Teknaf Upazila Awami League president jailed by lower court

Teknaf Upazila Awami League President Nurul Bashar has been sent to jail by the court in a case filed in connection with an attack on an opponent due to a land dispute. On Monday (June 3) afternoon, when he applied for bail in the court of Cox's Bazar Chief Judicial Magistrate Abdullah Al Mamun, the learned court refused to grant him bail and ordered him to be sent to jail. Ward No. 6 of Nurul Bashar Teknaf Sadar Union Resident of West Godarbil area, son of deceased Mohammad Shafi and President of Teknaf Upazila Awami League. Plaintiff's lawyer Sahab Uddin Sahib is confirming the truth of these facts.
He said that on February 20 this year, defendant Nurul Bashar went to occupy the rented house of Rehenuma Sohanal, the wife of cousin Mohammad Alam, a resident of Ward No. 6 of West Godarbil area of Teknaf Sadar Union, along with a group of armed terrorists. Several people including the plaintiff and her husband were seriously injured in their attack. In this incident, Rehenuma filed a case in Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Teknaf court, making Nurul Bashar the main defendant and naming 8 people. Case No. 80/2024. The main accused Nurul Bashar took bail from the High Court in the said case. When he surrendered and applied for bail in the lower court on Monday, the learned court did not grant him bail and directed him to be sent to jail.
