On Tuesday (May 21), polling was conducted peacefully without any untoward incident in the Upazila Parishad elections at Manohardi of Narsingdi from 8 am to 5 pm. Voter turnout was low in the morning, but the voter turnout increased slightly as the afternoon progressed. Nazrul Majid Mahmood, younger brother of Industries Minister, joint general secretary of Narsingdi District Awami League, was unofficially elected to the post of chairman after the counting of 100 polling stations in Manohardi. Swapan (Pineapple), female vice chairman was unofficially elected, Shahnaz Parveen Shilpi (Hans) and Touhid Sarkar (Mike) was elected unofficially as male vice chairman. Out of total 241030 voters in Manohardi upazila, 100 polling stations. 59533 votes have been cast. After the counting of votes in 100 centers, Manohardi was elected informally as the chairman with the pineapple symbol after receiving 33819 votes in the upazila parishad election, Narsingdi, the younger brother of the Minister of Industry.

District Awami League Joint General Secretary Nazrul Majid Mahmood Swapan, his nearest rival Manohardi Upazila Awami League President Ed.Mu Fazlul Haque got 10911 votes in horse symbol, also former general secretary of Manohardi Upazila Awami League, Habibur Rahman got 5459 votes in color telephone symbol, Manohardi Upazila The current general secretary of Awami League, Babu Priyashish Roy got 4588 votes on the motorcycle symbol, Ed. Masudur Rahman Masood got 2946 votes on the helicopter symbol.

Shahnaz Parveen Shilpi was unofficially elected for the post of female vice chairman by getting 24372 votes with duck symbol, her nearest rival current female vice chairman Afroza Sultana Ruby got 15806 votes, also Bedena Akhter got 8977 votes with pitcher symbol and Maryam Begum got 8977 votes with football symbol. 7524 votes. Tauhid Sarkar was unofficially elected as male vice chairman with 14168 votes on Mike Prateek, his nearest rival book. Abdul Qadir Mridha got 11475 votes in the symbol, Abdullah Al-Mamun got 11343 votes in the airplane symbol, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam got 6200 votes in the lock symbol, Mahmudul Hasan Rabin got 5467 votes in the Tia Pakhi symbol, Delwar Hossain Pabel got 4734 votes in the tubewell symbol and Chashma symbol got 4734 votes. Syed Mahmood Jahan Litu got 3617 votes.
