Students Launch Non-Cooperation Movement with One-Point Demand

Following yesterday's announcement, students across the country have commenced a non-cooperation movement demanding the government's resignation. The Anti-Discrimination Students Movement unveiled this new program on Saturday, dismissing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s invitation for dialogue to resolve the ongoing deadlock.

Thousands of protesters assembled at the Shahbagh intersection in the capital this morning, effectively blocking it to emphasize their one-point demand: the government's resignation. Among the demonstrators were people from various professions, arriving in small processions from different parts of the city, carrying bamboo sticks and chanting slogans.

Traffic in and around the Shahbagh intersection has come to a standstill as a result of the blockade.

Around 11:00 am, a pro-government group attempted to gather at the Science Lab intersection, marching from the Bata Signal area. Police responded by firing blank shots, prompting the protesters to chase the pro-government group away.

Protesters also began assembling at the Science Lab intersection from 10:00 am today, loudly voicing their support for the non-cooperation movement.
