Yunus: Ensuring Human Rights and Freedom of Speech is the Primary Goal
Daily Bijoy News Correspondent:
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus stated on Tuesday that the primary objective of the interim government is to ensure human rights and freedom of speech for all citizens. “Our main goal is to establish human rights and freedom of speech,” Yunus emphasized during his visit to the Dhakeswari National Temple.
He encouraged members of the Hindu community to see themselves as equal citizens and children of the land. “Simply affirm that you are human, a citizen of Bangladesh, and it is your constitutional right to have these freedoms. Demand this, and nothing more,” Yunus urged. He stressed that everyone is equal under the law, with no room for discrimination or division.
“I am here to affirm that we are all equal, and there is no place for creating differences,” he said. Yunus called on everyone to support the interim government in its efforts to establish the rule of law in Bangladesh. “Please cooperate with us in this endeavor. Be patient, and judge our actions later. If we fail, then hold us accountable. That is the key issue,” he concluded.
