Azizur Bhuiyan was elected with the pineapple symbol in Narail Upazila Parishad elections. In the second phase of Narail Sixth Upazila Parishad elections, elections were held in Narail Sadar and Lohagara upazilas. Ujjbal Roy, Narail district representative said that Mohammad Azizur Rahman Bhuiyan was elected Sadar Upazila Chairman on Tuesday (21 May) with pineapple symbol. He was a UP member of District Headquarters Chandipur Union for 40 years. Azizur Rahman Bhuiyan won by getting 2779 more votes than his nearest rival Tofail Ahmed Tufan of Ghora Pratik. He got a total of 45085 votes. The nearest rival Tofail Ahmed Tufan got 42306 votes.
Apart from this, candidate AKM Faizul Haque Rom, who is running for the post of chairman of pineapple symbol in the Lohagara upazila parishad election, has been privately elected as the upazila parishad chairman. He got 39 thousand 665 votes. His nearest rival chairman candidate SMA Hannan Runu got 26 thousand 600 votes in helicopter symbol. Md. was elected as vice chairman by receiving 23 thousand 878 votes in Tuboil symbol. Mustafa Kamal His nearest rival candidate Tia Pakhi got 21 thousand 539 votes. And Farhana Yasmin Iti was elected privately by getting 36 thousand 718 votes on the post of female vice chairman. His nearest rival candidate Kakali Begum got 25 thousand 13 votes in duck symbol. Member of Parliament of Narail 2 Constituency and Whip of Jatiya Sangsad Mashrafe Bin Murtaza congratulated the elected chairmen of Lohagra and Narail Sadar upazilas.
Mashrafe Bin Mortuza congratulated all those responsible for the election including Election Commission, Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police Narail, Returning Officer, Assistant Returning Officer, as the election was held very smoothly, beautifully and peacefully. Expressed sincere thanks to all the voters for maintaining a peaceful atmosphere in the elections and participating in voting spontaneously. Good luck to those who didn't win.
On the other hand, Ujjal Roy, Narail district representative said that the Superintendent of Police visited the 6th Upazila Parishad election polling station on Tuesday (21 May) on the occasion of the 6th Upazila Parishad election-2024. Narail District Superintendent of Police Mohd Mehdi Hasan visited these polling stations. During the inspection of the polling station, the Superintendent of Police said in response to the questions of the journalists that the law and order situation in the center is normal. Ansar and Village Defense Force personnel are deployed in sufficient numbers at the polling stations. Sufficient number of mobile teams and striking forces are deployed on duty. Along with RAB and Executive Magistrates, BGB is performing duties. Mobile teams and striking teams will be on the ground two days after the declaration of results to keep the situation in the area normal after the election."
