The 75th founding anniversary of Bangladesh's leading daily newspaper "Sangbad" was celebrated with vibrant festivities in Badalgachi, Naogaon.

Marking the occasion, a colorful rally was organized by the Sangbad family in Naogaon, led by Badalgachi Upazila Correspondent Sanzad Royal Sagar. The rally commenced at 3 PM on Saturday, May 17, from the Upazila Parishad premises and paraded through the town's main streets.

Following the rally, a discussion session was held at the Upazila Parishad hall room. The event was presided over by Shahidul Islam, President of the Badalgachi Press Club. Among the distinguished speakers were:

  • Israt Jahan Shani, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO)

  • Fazle Huda Babul, Joint Secretary of the BNP-affiliated Bangladesh Nationalist Farmers' Party and President of Badalgachi Upazila BNP

  • Sabab Farhan, Upazila Agriculture Officer

  • Dr. Ripa Rani, Livestock Officer

  • Anisur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badalgachi Police Station

  • ASM Raihan Alam, President of Naogaon District Press Club

  • Omar Faruq, Naogaon Correspondent of Prothom Alo

  • Abu Zar Giffari, General Secretary of Badalgachi Press Club

In his welcome speech, Sanzad Royal Sagar, the Sangbad correspondent for Badalgachi, elaborated on the newspaper's rich legacy.

UNO Israt Jahan Shani expressed gratitude for the invitation and wished Sangbad continued success. Fazle Huda Babul praised Sangbad as a historic newspaper that has upheld the spirit of the Language Movement and Liberation War, providing reliable and unbiased news during national crises. He hoped the paper would maintain its integrity in the future.

The event was moderated by Kazi Kamal, Naogaon District Correspondent of Sangbad. The program concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony following the chairperson's closing remarks.
