Court Grants Bail to Rickshaw-Puller Held at Dhanmondi 32

Rickshaw-Puller Azizur Granted Bail in Attempted Murder Case Rickshaw-puller Azizur, who was assaulted by a mob while attempting to pay tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi 32 on August 15, has been granted bail in an attempted murder case linked to the July uprising. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MA Azharul Islam granted the bail following a petition submitted by Azizur’s lawyer, Advocate Farzana Yasmin Rakhi, according to General Recording Officer (GRO) Sub-inspector Abul Bashar. “There is no legal bar preventing his release from jail,” Advocate Rakhi told The Daily Bijoy News. Azizur had been sent to jail by a Dhaka court yesterday in connection with the case.
