The distribution program for mustard seeds and chemical fertilizers has been inaugurated in Badalgachi, Naogaon. Carrying the slogan "Agriculture is Prosperity," the program was inaugurated at 11 AM on Thursday, October 30, at the Badalgachi Upazila Agriculture Office premises. This initiative, under the agricultural incentive program for the 2025-26 fiscal year, aims to increase the cultivation and production of various crops during the Rabi season by providing free mustard seeds and chemical fertilizers to small and marginal farmers.

Chaired by Upazila Agriculture Officer Sabab Farhan and conducted by Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer Rana Parvez, the inauguration ceremony was presided over by Badalgachi Upazila Executive Officer Ishrat Jahan Soni as the Chief Guest. Special guests in attendance included:

  • Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Sajal Sarkar

  • Upazila Social Service Officer Rajib Ahmed

  • Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Ripa Rani

  • Upazila Youth Development Officer Mazharul Islam

In her speech, the Chief Guest stated, "The Upazila Agriculture Office is providing the maximum quantity of mustard seeds and fertilizers. Therefore, the sale or purchase of these subsidized items is strictly prohibited. Legal action will be taken against anyone found selling them."

Upazila Agriculture Officer and Chair of the event, Sabab Farhan, said, "The incentives will be distributed among a total of 4,000 farmers. In today's inaugural ceremony, seeds and fertilizers will be distributed among 1,000 farmers. Each person will receive 1 kg of mustard seeds, 10 kg of Potash, and 10 kg of MOP."
