Distribution of Dumba Meat at 44 Madrasas and Orphanages in Burichang
Daily Bijoy News, Comilla Correspondent:
The distribution of 'dumba' meat sent from Saudi Arabia to 44 madrasas and orphanages in Burichang Upazila, Comilla, was completed on Tuesday afternoon. This activity was conducted on the initiative of the Upazila Administration and under the supervision of the Project Officer. Upazila Executive Officer Mohammad Tanvir Hossain was present to inaugurate the program and attended as the chief guest. Upazila Project Officer Zobayer Hasan supervised the related activities. Representatives from the madrasas and orphanages were present at that time. The meat was formally handed over to the representatives of the 44 institutions in the presence of the guests. It was also stated that on behalf of the Saudi Arabian government, this meat is allocated every year to the poor, orphans, and madrasa institutions, serving as an important part of social solidarity and support. Chief Guest Mohammad Tanvir Hossain said in his speech, "Today's distribution program is not just food aid; it is an effort to strengthen the equitable partnership in our society. Through giving and receiving support, we can ensure social responsibility. Especially for institutions like orphanages and madrasas, which might be neglected due to their educational circumstances and conditions – it is our duty to stand by them. I hope such activities will continue on a larger scale in the future."
He further mentioned that during the distribution, the meat reached the designated institutions according to the list correctly and in a timely manner, and all officials associated with the administration were active. At this time, the representatives of the madrasas and orphanages also expressed their gratitude and requested the administration to conduct such initiatives more effectively in the future. It is noted that the educational and religious institutions of Burichang Upazila are considered part of the social safety net. Ensuring a proper educational environment for the children and youth in madrasas and orphanages is, on one hand, part of the development plan, and on the other hand, such support makes their lives a little easier.
