Dr. Malekul Aftab Bhuiyan, the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, has set a unique example of humanitarian service at the Burichang Upazila Health Complex in Cumilla. He regularly visits every ward to check on patients, provides necessary medical advice, and also assists many helpless patients. His tireless work day and night has earned him the title of 'Humanitarian Doctor' from local patients.

Patients said, "Getting a doctor like Dr. Malekul Aftab Bhuiyan is a blessing for us. He visits ward to ward every day, checks on patients, talks to them, and encourages them. We are extremely happy with his service." Every day, 450-500 patients are served at the outdoor department, which is extremely challenging considering the manpower. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Malekul Aftab Bhuiyan said, "Serving people is my duty as a doctor. I am working to the best of my ability. If the manpower is increased, the healthcare system in Burichang will improve further."
