A brother was killed by his brother's stick over a trivial incident in Pirgacha.

A man named Emdadul Haque (48) was killed by his cousin's stick due to a trivial incident in Rangpur's Pirgacha. He died in Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Sunday morning, May 26. The deceased Emdadul Haque is the son of deceased Najjam Ali of Ganganarayan village of Itakumari union of upazila. Police have detained 2 women for questioning in this incident. Abdur Razzak, the brother of the deceased said, For a long time, Emdadul Haque's cousin Zahidul Islam, son of late Babu Kashem, Jafar Ali and Buda member's son Aminul Islam had been in conflict over land. Last Saturday at around 9:30 PM, Zahidul Islam and his companions attacked the house of Emdadul Haque and beat them with sticks, seriously injuring 4 people.
Local residents rescued Khalilur Rahman and Emdadul Haque who were seriously injured and admitted them to Pirgacha Health Complex and later to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Emdadul Haque died around 5:30 am on Sunday. On receiving the information, Pirgacha police station conducted a raid and arrested Zahidul Haque's wife Lipi Begum (28) and Riazul Haque's wife Monowara Begum and took them to the police station for questioning. Another cousin of the victim, Ziaur Rahman, said that they attacked us with a group based on a minor incident. We want fair trial in this incident and demand quick arrest of the main accused. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Peergacha Police Station Sushant Kumar Sarkar said that 2 women involved in the incident have been arrested. The victim's brother Asaduzzaman has filed a case as the plaintiff.
