BNP's jubilant procession in Burichong.

Welcoming the announcement of the schedule for the 13th National Parliamentary Election and Public Vote-2026, the Burichong Upazila branch of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) held a celebratory procession. This welcoming procession in favor of BNP candidate Haji Jasim Uddin (Paddy Sheaf) was held on Thursday night (December 11) in the market of the upazila sadar municipality. A large number of leaders and activists from the BNP and its associated and affiliated organizations participated.

Present at the procession were the BNP Upazila Organizing Secretary Abu Nasir Munshi, Joint Convener of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal Monir Hossain Bhuiyan, Monir Hossain, Liton Khan, Jubo Dal Member Secretary Delwar Hossain Dolon, member of Cumilla South District Volunteer Dal and BRDB Chairman Md. Kabir Hossain, former youth leader Kausar, Sadar Union BNP President Farid Uddin Member, Jubo Dal leader Anisur Rahman, Upazila Chhatra Dal Convener Swapan Ahmed Pakhi, Member Secretary Iqbal Hossain Bhuiyan, Joint Convener Mamunur Rashid, Sadar Union Jubo Dal Member Secretary Jamal Hossain Shikdar, former General Secretary of Sadar Union Chhatra Dal Masud Parvez, Joint Convener of Sadar Union Volunteer Dal Mohi Uddin, President of Sholonol Union Chhatra Dal Saddam Hossain, and other local leaders.

After the procession, in brief speeches, the leaders demanded that people's voting rights be ensured through a fair, free, and impartial election according to the schedule announced by the Election Commission. As per the schedule announced by the Election Commission (EC), the 13th National Parliamentary Election and Public Vote-2026 will be held on February 12.
