For the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, the party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has collected the nomination paper for the Thakurgaon-1 constituency. On Thursday (December 18) afternoon, former joint vice president of district BNP, Nur-E-Shahadat Swajan, collected the nomination form on behalf of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. District Election Officer Md. Waliullah confirmed the matter and said that the nomination form has been collected in the name of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. A family member came and took the form on his behalf as his representative. The Thakurgaon-1 constituency has long been known as the political center of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. The news of his nomination form collection has created widespread discussion and interest among local BNP leaders, activists, and voters.

Regarding this, Nur-E-Shahadat Swajan said, "I have collected the nomination form today on behalf of the party's Secretary General. He has been working tirelessly for the party for a long time. His political influence in the Thakurgaon-1 constituency is strong. We firmly believe that voters will have confidence in him, and this will further increase the party's organizational strength." It is worth noting that earlier, on November 3, at a press conference held at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan, Dhaka, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the candidate list for 237 constituencies for the 13th National Parliament election. In that list, he announced his own name for the Thakurgaon-1 constituency.
