Three people including the driver were injured when a branch of a banyan tree fell on a moving Mahendra vehicle in Keshavpur during heavy rain. The accident took place in front of a food warehouse in the city on Monday (May 27-24) night. Among the injured, Mahendra driver is undergoing treatment at Keshabpur Upazila Health Complex with serious injuries. The Mahendra got twisted in the accident. According to the hospital and family sources, on Monday night, Mahendra driver from Baisa Kalabasa intersection of Paur city is the son of Akbar Gazi of Baysa village. Baharul Gazi (32) was coming towards Trimohini junction of the city with two passengers. While arriving in front of the municipal food warehouse, the branch of a banyan tree on the side of the road broke and fell on Mahendra's car, injuring the driver Baharul Gazi (32) and passengers Oziar Rahman (35) of Bhogti village and Ramesh Das (45) of New Mulgram. Among the injured, the driver is under treatment at Keshabpur Upazila Health Complex as his condition is critical. The other two went home with first aid from the hospital's emergency department later that night. In this regard, Keshabpur Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Alamgir said, Mahendra vehicle driver is under treatment in the hospital with head and hand injuries. Currently, his condition is out of danger. The other two left later that night with first aid from emergency department doctors.
