'Info Apa' Project Courtyard Meeting in Mohanpur, Rajshahi - Raising Awareness for Women's Empowerment and Preventing Child Marriage

A special courtyard meeting was held in Mohanpur Upazila, Rajshahi, to raise awareness against child marriage and violence against women. The event was organized under the initiative of the Women Empowerment Project through Information Technology (Info Apa Project Phase 2). The meeting was held on Friday (October 10, 2025) at the conference room of the Mohanpur Upazila Parishad.
Mr. Momtaz Ahmed, NDC, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, was present as the Chief Guest. Special guests in attendance included Ms. Shahana Sarmin, Additional Secretary and Executive Director, National Women's Organization; Ms. Shahnaz Begum Nina, Joint Secretary and Project Director, Info Apa Project (Phase 2); Mr. S M Nazimul Islam, Joint Secretary and Deputy Project Director, Info Apa Project (Phase 2); and Ms. Mosammat Hasina Akter, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. The event was presided over by Ms. Zobaida Sultana, Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Mohanpur Upazila, Rajshahi.
The speakers said that information technology is now a key tool for improving the quality of life for women. They stated that the Info Apa Project is playing a vital role in building awareness and self-confidence among women to prevent violence against women and child marriage in society. They further added that the government's continuous efforts will persist in ensuring that women have access to information, education, employment, and social justice through technology. Local public representatives, teachers, students, women entrepreneurs, and Info Center entrepreneurs were present at the event.
