Teknaf rescued two kidnapped people after 7 days

RAB rescued two people who were abducted while traveling in Cox's Bazar from the hilly area after seven days. They were rescued from Teknaf Hoikang UP Unchiprang hilly area on Sunday (June 2) morning. The rescued abductees are Biplab Kumar Roy Babu (45) son of late Sukesh Chandra Roy of Trish area of Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila and Sumon Chandra Das (35) son of Ind Kumar Das of the same area. This information was confirmed by Senior Assistant Director (Law and Media) of RAB-15 Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Abu Salam Chowdhury.
He said that these two people went missing after coming to Cox's Bazar on May 25. Later, they were informed about their abduction on mobile phones and a ransom of Tk 5 lakh was demanded. If the ransom is not paid, they threatened to kill him. Biful Kumar Roy Bappi, the younger brother of Biplap Kumar Roy, wrote a complaint to RAB-15. He also said that the two rescued persons have been handed over to their families. Based on the information given by them, the operation to arrest those involved in the abduction is continuing.
It should be noted that, on the other hand, according to police information, 128 people were abducted from different areas of Teknaf from March 2023 to June 2, 2024. Among them, 70 were local residents, and the rest were Rohingya citizens who came to Bangladesh from Myanmar. At least 55 of the abducted victims were ransomed. got rid of.
