In Narail, SP Kazi Ehsanul Kabir paid tribute by placing floral wreaths at the martyrs' altar. The Great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day, which commemorate the blood-stained Language Movement, is a day in Bangladesh's history that is both mournful and glorious. On this day in 1952, students demanding Bengali to be recognized as one of the state languages of Pakistan were shot by Pakistani forces, resulting in the martyrdom of Salam, Rafiq, Barkat, Jabbar, and many others. Ujjal Roy, the district correspondent from Narail, reported that in observance of the Great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day, Kazi Ehsanul Kabir, the Superintendent of Police in Narail, laid floral wreaths at the Shaheed Minar located in the premises of the Narail District Shilpakala Academy at one minute past midnight on Thursday (February 21). The ceremony honored the memory of those who sacrificed their lives in the great Language Movement. Present at the event were Mir Shariful Haque, DIO 1; Md. Sajedul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana; Md. Shahadara Khan (PPM), Officer-in-Charge of the District Detective Branch; and other officers-in-charge from various units of the district police.
