An interfaith dialogue has been held in Keshabpur Upazila, Jessore.

An interfaith dialogue was held in Keshabpur, Jessore, under the theme "Building a Bangladesh of Peace and Harmony, Not Conflict." The event took place on Saturday, February 22, at 11:00 AM in the Upazila Parishad meeting room. It was organized by the Peace Facilitator Group (PFG) of Keshabpur Upazila under the MIPS project of The Hunger Project, with funding from FCDO.
The dialogue was chaired by Motahar Hossain, Peace Ambassador, General Secretary of the Keshabpur Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee, and senior journalist. Munshur Azad, Coordinator of the Upazila Peace Facilitator Group (PFG) and cultural personality, moderated the event. The chief guest was Md. Sharif Newaz, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Keshabpur Upazila. Special guests included Khan Shariful Islam, Investigation Inspector of Keshabpur Police Station.
Other attendees included Peace Ambassador and Headteacher of Garbhanga Girls' Secondary School, Suprabhat Kumar Basu; Mizanur Rahman, Accountant and representative of the Upazila Secondary Education Officer; Rupali Rani, Upazila Women Affairs Officer; Ratan Haldar, Assistant Youth Development Officer; Dr. Anwarul Islam; Md. Shibli Sadik of the Islamic Foundation; Imam Tarikul Islam; Priest Shubhankar Bhattacharya; Pastor Manik Das; and other respected guests from various religions. The esteemed members shared their valuable opinions.
The core message of The Hunger Project and the MIPS project was presented by S.M. Raju Jabed, Area Coordinator of the MIPS project, and Khorshed Alam, Regional Coordinator of Jessore region. Md. Ashraful Zaman, Field Coordinator of the MIPS project, was in charge of overall management.
Speakers at the dialogue emphasized that all religions encourage humane behavior for peace and harmony. They stressed the need to build a tolerant, safe, dignified, and free human society to achieve peace. They called for avoiding ethnic or religious extremism and fostering brotherhood to create a non-communal, just society. The event began with a collective rendition of the national anthem.
