Rangpur Ansar-VDP observes International Mother Language Day

The National Martyr's Day and International Mother Language Day, Amar Ekushey February, was observed through various programs jointly organized by the Rangpur Range and Rangpur District of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force (VDP).

On this occasion, at 12:01 AM, floral tributes were paid to the language martyrs at the Rangpur Central Shaheed Minar. The Range Deputy Director of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force, Rangpur Range, Mohammad Abdul Awal, BVM, PVMS, gave a directional speech about the lives and contributions of the language martyrs. Among others present at the event, the Director of Ansar VDP Rangpur Range, Md. Shafiqul Alam, and the Commandant of Ansar-VDP Rangpur District, Rashedul Islam, also spoke. Among those present on the occasion were Assistant Director Md. Faruk Hossain, the Sadar Upazila Ansar-VDP Officer, Upazila Trainers, Battalion Ansar members, and General Ansar members.

Earlier in the morning, the national flag and the organization's flag were flown at half-mast in front of the Range and District offices. Following the Zuhr prayers, a Milad Mahfil was held at the Mahiganj District Ansar-VDP Training Centre in Rangpur city, seeking salvation for the departed souls of the language martyrs. Special prayers (Munajat) and supplications (Dua) were offered for the forgiveness of the souls of all martyrs' family members, including Ansar Commander Abdul Jabbar, who laid down his life in 1952 demanding Bangla as the state language, as well as for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the nation and the continued progress of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP.

Present at the Dua Mahfil event were Rangpur Range Commander Mohammad Abdul Awal, Director Md. Shafiqul Alam, along with senior officers, employees of the organization, and media personnel.
