In Naogaon, during a nighttime operation, 4 robbers were arrested along with stolen goods.

In Naogaon, the police conducted an operation late at night and arrested several individuals. Among those arrested, four were detained in connection with a robbery case, and one was arrested on charges of drug dealing. Police Superintendent Mohammad Safiul Sarwar disclosed this information during a press conference held at the Police Superintendent's office on Saturday (March 1) afternoon.
The arrested individuals are: Ahsan Raj (22), a resident of the Ferry Ghat area in Mandu Upazila; Mehedi Hasan (31), from Deluabari village; Bikash Pahan (17), from Paranpur village in Niamatpur Upazila; Joy Kumar (16), from Dampura village in the same upazila; and Aslam Hossain (60), from Barunkandi village in Naogaon Sadar Upazila.
In a written statement at the press conference, Police Superintendent Mohammad Safiul Sarwar stated that on the night of February 24, a group of robbers assaulted gold trader Nantu Kumar while he was returning home after closing his shop near Maladhar Bridge in Ahsanganj Bazar, Atrai Upazila, Naogaon. The robbers snatched cash and gold ornaments from him. Following the incident, the victim filed a case at Atrai Police Station, prompting the police to launch an investigation. Based on the case, a team from Naogaon DB Police, led by Atrai Police Station, conducted a raid on Friday night and arrested Ahsan Raj, a member of the robbery gang, from the Ferry Ghat area in Mandu Upazila. Ahsan Raj has multiple cases against him in Naogaon and Chapainawabganj. He will be presented before the court, and a remand request will be filed.
During the press conference, the Police Superintendent also mentioned that on October 9, 2024, in the Maipur Khari area of Sapahar Upazila, Naogaon, a group of cattle traders were assaulted and robbed after their boat was intercepted. Following this incident, raids were conducted in Paranpur and Dampura areas of Niamatpur Upazila, leading to the arrest of two members of the robbery gang, Bikash Pahan and Joy Kumar. In connection with this robbery case, eight more individuals have been arrested. Additionally, Aslam Hossain was arrested from Barunkandi area in Naogaon Sadar Upazila. He has six cases against him for robbery and theft.
In another operation, Mehedi Hasan (31), a drug dealer, was arrested from Deluabari area in Mandu Upazila with 20 grams of heroin. The process of sending the arrested accused to jail through the court is ongoing.
The press conference was attended by Additional Police Superintendent Gaziur Rahman and Farzana Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naogaon Detective Police Abdul Mannan, and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naogaon Sadar Police Station Nure Alam Siddiqui.
