RAB operation in Teknaf: 15 Rohingya staying in rented house and 2 house owners arrested.

Members of RAB-15 have arrested 13 Rohingya refugees residing illegally and two individuals who provided them shelter in Teknaf Municipality. The arrested shelter providers are Abdullah (27), son of late Omar Hamza, a resident of Kayukkhali Para in Teknaf Municipality, and Md. Foyez (65), son of late Hasan Sharif from the same area. Additional Police Superintendent and Senior Assistant Director of RAB-15, A. M. Faruk, confirmed that the Rohingyas and the shelter providers were arrested during a raid conducted on Monday night (October 6) at Abdullah Mansion in Kayukkhali Para, Teknaf Municipality. He said that upon receiving information that a number of Rohingya refugees were residing illegally at Abdullah Mansion in Ward No. 3, Kayukkhali Para area of Teknaf Municipality, members of RAB-15, CPC-1 conducted a special drive. At that time, 13 Rohingya refugees living there illegally were arrested. Simultaneously, the owner and the caretaker of Abdullah Mansion were arrested for providing them shelter. The arrestees have been sent to Teknaf Model Police Station for further legal action.
