TMSS's Humanitarian Assistance in Rangpur: Food Items Distributed Among Distressed Families

As part of its social responsibility, TMSS, one of the country's top-tier and international standard non-governmental development organizations, has distributed food items among 600 distressed and low-income families in Gangachara and Kaunia upazilas of Rangpur district, under the jurisdiction of its Operation-4 Rangpur Domain. This humanitarian assistance program was conducted on the initiative of the Rangpur Zone of TMSS's Operation-4 Domain. The food items were provided to a total of 600 listed distressed families in the working areas of the Gangachara and Kaunia branches under the Rangpur Zone of TMSS Operation-4 Rangpur Domain. The food distribution program was held on October 11 at the Kaunia branch and Gangachara office premises. A total of 600 bags of specially prepared food items, one for each family, were distributed. Each distributed bag contained 20 kg of potatoes and half a kilogram of flattened rice (muri), which is significant support for the low-income families during this difficult time.

Presided over by Regional Head Md. Mahfuz Ahmed, the food distribution event was graced by Md. Shahin Mia, Domain Head of TMSS Rangpur Domain, as the Chief Guest. He delivered an instructive speech and distributed the food items. Special guests at the event included Kaunia Thana's SI Md. Azibur Rahman and prominent businessman and social worker Md. Ataur Rahman, among others. Others who spoke at the event included Regional Head Md. Rafiq Bin Aziz and Branch Head Md. Mazedur Rahman. The event was attended by local public representatives and dignitaries, TMSS officials, beneficiaries, and the general public.

Domain Head Md. Shahin Mia said that TMSS conducts various social and humanitarian activities across the country with a service-oriented mindset, not for profit. In continuation of this, standing by the disadvantaged people of society in this area today is one of TMSS's key objectives. He also expressed their commitment to continuing such humanitarian activities in the future. He said that TMSS truly deserves praise for carrying out various social and humanitarian activities among the grassroots people.

Local beneficiaries welcomed this noble initiative of TMSS and expressed their gratitude to TMSS's Founder Executive Director Professor Dr. Hosne Ara Begum and the officials for providing food assistance at such a time. They mentioned that this food assistance would be very helpful in ensuring food security for their families in the current difficult situation.

It is worth mentioning that TMSS has been implementing multifaceted development activities including education, health, agriculture, economic, and humanitarian assistance in various parts of the country for a long time. This food distribution program of theirs will have a positive impact on society.
