100 kg of marijuana was being dried on the roof of a UP member's house in Brahmanpara.

Police have arrested one person with 100 kg of marijuana from the roof and inside a bamboo grove at the house of No. 6 Ward UP member Nurul Islam of Sashidal Union, Brahmanpara Thana, Comilla district. The operation was conducted on Monday morning (October 20) under the leadership of the newly appointed Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Thana, Mohammad Sajedul Islam. At that time, Police Inspector (Investigation) Thomas Barua, Sub-Inspector (SI) Mehedi Hasan Jewel, Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Abdus Sabur, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shamsuddin, and Kamruzzaman, along with accompanying forces, assisted in the operation.
According to Thana sources, acting on a tip-off on Monday morning under the leadership of the newly appointed Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Sajedul Islam, they arrested Md. Kausar (30), son of the late Abdul Hakim of the same area and an associate of UP member Md. Nurul Islam, along with 60 kg of marijuana dried and packed in polythene on the roof of the UP member's house and 40 kg of marijuana from inside a bamboo grove in the Uttarpara area of Sashidal Union of the upazila. He was then taken to the Thana. A drug case has been filed at the Thana regarding this incident.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Thana, Mohammad Sajedul Islam, said, "This is a major success for Brahmanpara Thana Police. Zero tolerance has been declared against drugs. There is no compromise against drugs. Thana police are conducting continuous operations against drugs. The arrested accused has been sent to jail through the court. Legal action will be taken against those involved in this incident."
