"1 arrested after 5 rounds of gunfire in Teknaf!"

Teknaf BGB Seizes Weapon, Ammunition; Arrests Suspected Bandit Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) stationed in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, conducted an operation on Monday, November 4, leading to the arrest of a suspected bandit and the recovery of illegal arms and ammunition.

During a routine anti-smuggling patrol by the Hoikang Jimbangkhali Border Outpost (BOP), a suspicious individual was spotted crossing the Bangladesh-Myanmar border near the Shamchuler Gher area, carrying a bag. Upon further investigation, the individual was detained. Authorities recovered a locally made shotgun (LG), five rounds of live ammunition, and one empty shell from the suspect.

The detained individual has been identified as Mohammad Alam (29), son of Habibur Rahman, from the No. 12 Balukhali FDMN Camp, Block G/7, Ukhia. According to Teknaf 2 BGB Captain Lt. Colonel Mohammad Mohiuddin Ahmed, during questioning, Alam confessed to being a member of a local bandit group responsible for robbing markets, shops, and homes in the Teknaf area.

The process of transferring the arrested individual, along with the seized arms and ammunition, to the Teknaf Model Police Station is currently underway.
