Inauguration of Agricultural Incentive Program in Mohanpur, Rajshahi during Rabi Season: Free seeds and fertilizers distributed among marginal farmers.

Rajshahi, Mohanpur Upazila: An inaugural ceremony for the distribution of free seeds and chemical fertilizers to marginal farmers was held in Mohanpur on Monday, October 6, at 10:00 AM. This initiative, under the Agricultural Incentive Program for the 2026 fiscal year, aims to increase the production of seasonal vegetables cultivable in homesteads and fields during the Rabi season. The event was organized by the Mohanpur Department of Agriculture.
The chief guest at the event was the Upazila Acting Executive Officer, Jobaida Sultana. Special guests in attendance included Kamrul Hasan, an officer from the Mohanpur Department of Agriculture, and Said Ali Reza, the Youth Development and Sports Officer. Additionally, officers from various departments and local farmers were present.
In her speech as the chief guest, Jobaida Sultana stated, "Agriculture is the main driving force of our economy. This incentive program for marginal farmers is extremely important. The free distribution of seeds and chemical fertilizers will encourage farmers to produce more vegetables, which will ensure food security and financial self-reliance. We will stand by the farmers and continue all kinds of support to increase their production."
Kamrul Hasan, an officer from the Mohanpur Department of Agriculture, said in his speech, "This incentive for vegetable cultivation in the Rabi season will help reduce farmers' production costs. We are working to increase their productivity by providing modern agricultural technology and training. This program will play a significant role in improving the farmers' quality of life."
Farmers present at the event praised the initiative, stating that this assistance would help them increase production and become financially self-reliant. The Mohanpur Department of Agriculture stated that over one hundred marginal farmers in the area would benefit from this program. It is hoped that the event will invigorate the local agricultural sector.
