A discussion meeting with media workers was held in Pabna, like across the country, to make the typhoid vaccination campaign a success. The meeting was held on Thursday, October 9th, with the participation of local and national level media workers working in the district, as part of this awareness campaign with the assistance of UNICEF Bangladesh under the project of Communication Activities for Increasing Awareness in Child-Adolescent-Youth and Women Development. The meeting, organized by the Pabna District Information Office and with the assistance of the Civil Surgeon's Office, was held at the Rashid Hall auditorium of the Pabna District Council. It was presided over by the Civil Surgeon of Pabna, Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad.

Important speeches were given at the meeting by the Additional District Administrator (General) of Pabna, Md. Jahangir Alam, the President of Pabna Press Club, Akhteruzzaman Akhter, the Deputy Civil Surgeon, Dr. Md. Khairul Kabir, and the representative of the World Health Organization, Md. Rashedul Bari, among others. Civil Surgeon Dr. Abul Kalam Azad highlighted the importance of the campaign and sought everyone's cooperation for its successful implementation. It was informed at the meeting that the nationwide typhoid vaccination campaign is set to begin on October 12th. In this campaign, a single dose of typhoid vaccine will be administered to all children-adolescents from nine months to under 15 years of age and all students from pre-primary to class nine or equivalent. The vaccine will initially be administered through registration. However, it was informed that others of the same age who are missed during registration will also get the opportunity to receive the vaccine later.

Also present at the event were the General Secretary of Pabna Press Club, Md. Zahurul Islam, former President ABM Fazlur Rahman, journalists of Pabna Press Club, and various local and national level media workers working in the district. The speakers emphasized the active role of the media in delivering the campaign's message correctly and effectively to the public. The meeting was conducted by the Senior District Information Officer of Pabna district, Md. Samiul Alam.
