In Burichang, residential houses burnt to ashes in a fire caused by an electrical short circuit.

In Burichang Upazila of Comilla, two residential houses, two cowsheds, a wedding pandal, cooked food, refrigerators, cash money, and furniture were burnt to ashes in a fire caused by an electrical short circuit. The fire incident occurred on Friday (October 10) at around 3:00 AM at Araga Anandapur U: Para (Bara Bari) of Burichang Municipality. Burichang Fire Station officer Zahirul Islam confirmed the matter. Salauddin Babu said the fire originated from an electrical short circuit and spread instantly, burning down two residential houses, two cowsheds, the wedding pandal for the daughter of Enamul, the niece of Nazmul and Rubel's cousin Nasir, cooked food, three refrigerators from the house, cash money, and furniture. The estimated loss could be between 15-20 lakh taka. Locals helped bring the fire under control, and two units of Burichang Fire Service arrived and completely extinguished the fire. Regarding this, Burichang Fire Service Station Officer Zahirul Islam said that upon hearing the news of the fire, he quickly reached the spot with his two units and brought the fire completely under control. Residential houses, cowsheds, the wedding pandal, cooked food, and refrigerators were burnt. Upon receiving the news of the fire, Upazila Executive Officer Tanvir Hossain visited the spot. Local leaders including former Upazila Vice Chairman Advocate Saiful Alam and Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Abu Naser Munshi were also present.
