Climate Camp 2.0 in Dinajpur: A New Generation's Commitment to Climate Awareness!

"Climate Camp 2.0," organized by the Village Social Development Association (VSDA), was held at Chandganj A.S.M. Bidirectional High School and College in Dinajpur. Throughout yesterday (October 30), various activities and workshops were held at this day-long camp aimed at raising awareness among students about climate change and environmental protection.
Presided over by the Principal of Chandganj A.S.M. Bidirectional High School and College, Md. Shahjahan Chowdhury, and conducted by the Vice President of the Village Social Development Association (VSDA), Md. Selim Islam, the event featured Deputy Director of the Dinajpur Department of Youth Development, Khandakar Md. Rownakul Islam, as the Chief Guest.
Special guests in attendance included Additional Police Superintendent (Sadar Circle) Md. Abdul Halim, environmental activist Kanika Rahman Parul, and VSDA Senior Officer Abu Jafar.
Also present were the President of Youth Lead Committee-25, Md. Shamin Hossain, General Secretary Koli Purnima Lucy Saren, members Md. Shamin and Atikur Rahman, along with other members of the organization.
The Chief Guest, Khandakar Md. Rownakul Islam, said, "Climate change is no longer just a topic for scientists to discuss; it has become a part of our lives. The young generation can lead the way in building a green earth. Today's camp is a reflection of that commitment."
Throughout the day-long camp, detailed discussions were held on the impacts of climate change, coping with natural disasters, the harmful effects of plastic, the importance of tree planting, and tree care. A 'Climate Quiz Competition' organized with student participation created a festive atmosphere. Winners of the quiz were presented with fruit tree saplings, which were highly praised as an effective symbol for environmental protection.
Approximately 200 students participated in the camp. The camp's activities concluded with a joint tree planting session by the guests and students.
