Courtyard meeting of BNP held in Charatarapur.

An open courtyard meeting was organized by the Charatarapur Union BNP, keeping the upcoming national election in view, in Sadar Upazila of Pabna. The meeting was held on Friday (December 13) in the field adjacent to the house of former chairman Sheikh Rahmat Ali in the Aria Gohailbari area. Presided over by former chairman of Charatarapur Union, Md. Rahmat Ali Sheikh, the meeting was attended as the chief guest by Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Bishwas, Special Assistant to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, prominent labor leader, and candidate for the Pabna-5 constituency parliamentary seat. In his speech as the chief guest, Shimul Bishwas said that if the BNP comes to power, employment opportunities will be arranged for one crore people. All kinds of services will be ensured for the people through Agriculture Cards, Health Cards, and Family Cards. He further said that after the martyred President Ziaur Rahman came to power, the price of rice was four to five taka, and through the import of agricultural technology, food production increased manifold in the country, making Bangladesh self-sufficient in food. Attending as a special guest at the event were the founding president of Pabna District BNP, eminent educationist and social worker, Managing Director of Mahatab Bishwas Real Estate, and proposed chairman of Mast University and retired principal Alhaj Mahatab Uddin Bishwas. In his speech, he called upon everyone to vote for the 'Paddy Sheaf' symbol of the martyred Zia and make Shimul Bishwas victorious.
Speeches were also delivered at the event by former Sadar Upazila BNP President AKM Musa, President of Pabna Motor Owners Association Rehanul Islam Bulal, Chairman of Sadullapur Union Parishad A. Alim Mollah, Coordinator of Edward College's Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Sohana Sheuli, Member Secretary of Sujanagar Upazila BNP Sheikh Abdur Rauf, Krishak Dal leader Saidul Islam Chhappan, Headteacher Md. Wahidur Rahman, District Juba Dal Member Secretary Md. Monir Ahmed, along with leaders of the BNP and its associated organizations. At that time, Secretary of Pabna Press Club Md. Jahurul Islam, journalist MA Alim Ripon, and people from various classes and professions were present. Hundreds of leaders and workers from the ward and union levels of Sadullapur, Charatarapur, and Bhangara Union BNP and its associated and affiliated organizations participated in the courtyard meeting.
