Protest march in Naogaon against the attack on Osman Hadi.

Political parties in Naogaon have held protest rallies and marches against the shooting incident targeting Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inquilab Manch and independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election. On Saturday (December 13) around 12 PM, District BNP brought out a protest march from their party office at Kedi intersection in the town. The march circled the main roads of the town and ended at the Nozowan field. A brief rally was held there afterwards.

Speakers at the rally included Naogaon District BNP President Abu Bakkar Siddique Nannu, former District BNP General Secretary and BNP nominated candidate for Naogaon-5 (Sadar) constituency in the upcoming parliamentary election Zahidul Islam Dhalu, District BNP Organizing Secretary Nure Alam Mithu, Khairul Islam Golden, Shafiul Azam (VP Rana), former District BNP Member Secretary Baaizid Hossain Palash, District Juba Dal Convener Masud Haider Tipu, Sadar Upazila BNP President Dewan Mostak Ahmed Raja, among others.

District BNP President Abu Bakkar Siddique Nannu said, "A few days ago, an attack was made on a candidate of our party in Chattogram. Yesterday, independent candidate Hadi for Dhaka-8 constituency was shot at. We are concerned about these incidents. The fascist's collaborators still remain in the country, who are making various plans to sabotage the upcoming election.
We want to warn the government, saying that those involved in these incidents should be brought under the law promptly and exemplary punishment should be ensured."

Meanwhile, around 11 AM, leaders and activists of the National Citizens' Party (NCP) and Amar Desh (AB) Party, Naogaon district branch, held an hour-long protest rally at the Central Shaheed Minar in Muktir intersection in the town demanding justice for the attack on Hadi. At that time, NCP Naogaon District Branch Member Secretary Khondakar Tariqul Islam Dipu, Joint Convener Dewan Mahbub Al Hasan Sohel, AB Party Naogaon District Branch Convener Kazi Atikur Rahman, among others, spoke.

NCP Naogaon District Branch Joint Convener Dewan Mahbub Al Hasan Sohel said, "Before the attack on Hadi, he had indicated through his Facebook status that he might be attacked. Still, the government did not provide him with any security. We had news that the former fascist government was giving weapon training to terrorists in this country and wanted to create major unrest. Afterwards, the interim government did not take any measures. We demand from the government that these terrorists be arrested through nationwide combing operations."

AB Party Naogaon District Branch Convener Kazi Atikur Rahman said, "This government has failed to provide security to the July fighters. While special security arrangements were made for Zubaida Rahman, no security is being provided to the frontline fighters of July. We want the state to provide security for the frontline fighters of July. We demand exemplary punishment for those involved in the attack on Hadi."
