Daily Bijoy News, Keshabpur (Jessore) Correspondent:
A protest march was organized by the Keshabpur Upazila and Municipal BNP against the terrorist attack on Sherif Osman Hadi, an independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency and spokesperson for the Inqilab Manch, and Ershad Ullah, who received the BNP nomination for Chattogram-8 constituency, ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. The march, organized by the upazila and municipal BNP, started from the party office on Saturday afternoon (December 13-25), wound through the main roads of the town, and concluded at the same point.
After the march, a brief speech was delivered in front of the party office by Kazi Rawnakul Islam Shrabon, a member of BNP's National Executive Committee and the party's nominated candidate for Jessore-6 constituency. He stated, "There is no place for violence in democratic politics. There can be differences of opinion, but using intimidation and attacks to stifle voices can never stop the people's verdict. This brutal attack is not only on specific individuals; it is a direct attack on free expression and democracy." A demand was made for the immediate identification, arrest, and exemplary punishment of the miscreants involved in the attacks on the candidates for the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections.
