Allegations of sale of primary school tins without resolution in Naogaon Manda
Daily Bijoy News Naogaon Correspondent:
In Manda of Naogaon, a primary school in the upazila was accused of selling tin without an out-of-rules resolution. In this incident, female member of Manda Sadar Union Parishad's reserved seat, Jinnatun Necha, filed a written complaint against the two accused teachers and the department to various departments including the Upazila Education Officer on May 26 (Sunday). The accused teachers are Suruchi Rani Howladar, headmistress of Manda Government Primary School No. 25, Assistant teacher Khairul Alam and secretary Saiful Islam. According to the complaint, three rooms were made with corrugated iron for the teaching facility of the students due to the demolition of the old building during the construction of the new building of Manda Government Primary School No. 25 of the upazila a few months ago. When the new building was completed, the three tin rooms were abandoned. A few days ago, the headmistress and assistant teacher of the school secretly sold the abandoned classroom tins. When the matter became known, the headmistress bought some old tins overnight. Mamun, the tin buyer of the school, said, "I bought three and a half tins from teacher Khairul for eight thousand rupees. After that suddenly Khairul Master gave me 2 thousand 500 taka to buy old tin. I returned the money without getting the old tin.
For them, I don't want to get into trouble by lying. The head teacher of the institution, Suruchi Rani Howladar, said, "Tin has been sold according to the rules. The amount of tin sold has been deposited with the president. I don't want to tell you anything more about this. When I asked Shamim Hossain, the president of the school, about the sale of tin, he said, "Seven to eight thousand rupees of tin was sold and deposited in the bank." He avoided the question whether anyone in the concerned department knew anything about it. Edward Saren, the assistant education officer in charge of this matter, said, 'The tins were asked to be packed. If he sells tin he has committed an offence. I am not aware of the sale of tin. Upazila Primary Education Officer Abul Bashar Shamsuzzaman said that he received a complaint about selling tin secretly without a resolution or any kind of auction. The incident will be investigated. If the truth is found, action will be taken against those involved.
