In Goaland, Rajbari, police have arrested Awami League leader Md. Mojibur Rahman Kazi, alias Maji (59), in connection with a case related to an attack during an anti-discrimination student movement. He was arrested on Tuesday (February 18) from the Goaland Bazar bus stand area. Mojibur is the former general secretary of Ward No. 2 of the Goaland Municipality Awami League. In the afternoon, he was sent to jail following a court order in Rajbari.

Inspector (Investigation) Uttam Kumar Ghosh of Goaland Ghat Police Station stated that Md. Shariful Islam, the local coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, filed a case at Goaland Ghat Police Station on December 10. The case names 59 individuals, including former Goaland Upazila Parishad Chairman and Upazila Awami League President Md. Mostafa Munshi, former Mayor of Goaland Municipality and Municipal Awami League President Md. Nazrul Islam Mondal, and Upazila Awami League General Secretary Biplob Ghosh, along with 300-400 unidentified individuals. The arrested Mojibur is a suspect in this case.
