In Mandā, Naogaon, a mother named Zaida Bibi (65) was killed after being hit by a battery-run rickshaw (votvoti) while on her way to visit her son who was injured in a motorcycle accident. The incident occurred around 11 AM on Sunday at the Bijoypur intersection on the Naogaon-Rajshahi highway. Zaida Bibi, the deceased, was the wife of late Mansur Rahman from Hajigobindapur village in Kusumba Union of the upazila.

The victim's son, Al Mamun, stated, "My brother, retired army member Rahidul Islam, was returning home on a motorcycle from Prasadpur Bazaar on Sunday morning when he was injured in an accident near Sadekul Islam's brickfield area. Local residents rescued him and took him to the emergency department of Mandā Hospital."

Al Mamun further added that upon hearing the news of his brother Rahidul's injury, their mother Zaida Bibi was on her way to the hospital to see him. While crossing the road at the Bijoypur intersection, she was hit by a battery-run rickshaw (votvoti) and fell onto the paved road, sustaining severe injuries. She was rescued and taken to Mandā Hospital, but she died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (Ramek Hospital).

Confirming the incident, Mansur Rahman, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mandā Police Station, said that since no formal complaint was filed, the body of Zaida Bibi was handed over to her family after completing the legal procedures.
