The typhoid vaccination program will begin in Burichang on the upcoming 12th.

A massive typhoid vaccination campaign will begin in Burichang from the upcoming October 12. Under this program, a total of 1 lakh 6 thousand children and adolescents aged 9 months to 15 years will receive free Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV). Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Malekul Aftab Bhuiya stated that a four-step process must be followed to receive the vaccine. First, online registration; second, registration in the TCV program; third, downloading the vaccination card; and fourth, receiving the vaccine by showing the card at the designated center.

Furthermore, students from pre-primary to class ninth/equivalent can receive the vaccine at their respective educational institutions. All children aged 9 months to under 15 years can get vaccinated at the existing EPI vaccination centers. Even if someone has received a typhoid vaccine before, they can still get one dose during the campaign period. He further said that 1 lakh 6 thousand children and adolescents in the upazila will be vaccinated. He urged everyone to get vaccinated to protect themselves from typhoid.
