Sun God Worshipped by Hindu Community in Festive Atmosphere Across the Country, Including Naogaon

In various upazilas of Naogaon district, including the main center of the Chhath Puja worship, devotees enter the water of ponds, rivers, canals, and other water bodies before sunrise to worship the Sun God. It is believed that observing this ritual, the six maidens (Chhathi Maiya), filled with maternal affection, bestow happiness upon the child and maintain the family's peace and prosperity.
This Sun God and Chhath Puja has been celebrated with great enthusiasm on the banks of the small Jamuna river in Naogaon. Additionally, the traditional Sun God worship of the Harijan community was held in a festive atmosphere in Nitpur Sadar Union of Porsha Upazila, Naogaon district. As in previous years, they organized this puja with religious devotion and in a joyous environment.
Throughout the day-long festival, worship was offered to the Sun God with a variety of fruits and flowers. As the evening set in, a special worship ceremony was held at the moment of sunset on the banks of the Punarbhaba River in Nitpur. Standing in the river water as the sun set, devotees prayed to the Creator for the forgiveness of their sins and to attain liberation.
A festive atmosphere prevailed across the area on the occasion of the puja. Hundreds of Harijan men, women, children, and elderly people from far and wide participated in this religious ceremony. The devotees were filled with immense joy and excitement.
Locals reported that this year's Sun God puja was completed in a highly orderly and peaceful manner. There were no incidents of disorder throughout the entire event. As a unique expression of religious devotion, social harmony, and cultural tradition, this Sun God puja in Nitpur, Porsha has now become a joyous celebration for the local community.
