A prayer meeting was held following the death of Abdul Motaleb Mahaldar (100), former Vice-President of Barenga NSH Dakhil Madrasa in Mongolkot Union, Keshabpur upazila. The prayer ceremony was held on Thursday morning (October 30) in the madrasa hall room, organized by the madrasa, to pray for the salvation of his soul.

The welcome speech at the event was given by the Madrasa Superintendent, Maulana Rafiqul Islam. Presided over by the institution's President, Maulana Maruf Billah Khan (Barenga Darbar Sharif), and conducted by the madrasa's junior Mawlana teacher, Abdul Salam, speeches highlighting the life of the social worker and the deceased were given by former President of Mongolkot Bus Stand Jame Mosque, A. Jalil Sardar; Director of Basuntia Development Organization, Abdul Rahim; senior journalist Poresh Debnath; retired teacher of the madrasa, Ashraf Ali Khan, and others.

At the event, the Quran was recited by madrasa student Sajidur Rahman, and the prayer was conducted by the Assistant Superintendent of the madrasa, Maulana Abdul Hakim Khan. The prayer meeting was attended by teachers, staff, and students of the madrasa.

The prominent social worker, former Salishi judge, and founder of various institutions, Motaleb Mahaldar, had passed away on October 22 due to old age at his residence in Basuntia village. He is survived by 4 sons, 5 daughters, and grandchildren.
