A businessman's motorcycle was stolen from in front of the Mohanpur Upazila Administrative Building in Rajshahi. This incident has caused widespread anger and feelings of insecurity among local residents. The victim, Md. Abu Hena (52), NID No. 3718603123, son of late Omar Mandal, address: Basantapur, Mohanpur Thana, Rajshahi district, has filed a written complaint at the Mohanpur Police Station. In the complaint, he stated that on the morning of November 3, 2025, at approximately 11:30 AM, he parked his Livio Plus 110cc motorcycle (Engine No.–JC87E-1001671, Chassis No.–PSOJC8790MH501011, Color–Surma, Price–৳1,29,000) near the gate of the park adjacent to the Upazila Cooperative Office and went to the 4th floor for official work.

However, when he returned at 11:50 AM, he found that his motorcycle was missing. A subsequent search in the surrounding area yielded no results. Regarding this incident, Md. Abu Hena suspects that an unknown thief or group of thieves stole his motorcycle between 11:30 AM and 11:50 AM. He further mentioned in the complaint that the CC cameras installed at the location have been out of order for a long time. Drawing the administration's attention, he said, "There is no security even at our own premises. If thefts can happen within the Upazila compound, one can imagine how insecure the general public feels. We want our motorcycle to be recovered and such incidents not to happen in the future."

Local residents reported regarding this incident that the severe weakness of the security system in the Mohanpur Upazila compound has been questioned at various times before. There are allegations that criminals can carry out such activities freely because the CC cameras installed throughout the compound are non-functional. Witnesses testifying on behalf of the victim are: 1. Md. Mahasin Ali Munto (60), son of late Abdul Hakim, and 2. Md. Nazmul Hossain (32), son of Md. Hekmat Ullah, both residents of Basantpur, Mohanpur, Rajshahi.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohanpur Police Station stated that the complaint has been accepted and necessary investigation and raids will be conducted to recover the motorcycle. Conscious citizens have demanded the immediate repair of the CC cameras and the implementation of strict security measures in the upazila compound.
