Entrepreneurship development will strengthen socio-economic growth: Barisal Range Commander

Mohammad Abdus Samad, BVM, PVMS, Director & Range Commander of the Barisal Range of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force, said that creating entrepreneurs increases self-reliance, accelerates socio-economic development, and enhances professional capacity. Keeping this slogan at the forefront for development, security, peace, and order everywhere, the closing ceremony of the 10-day TDP basic training – 5th phase, was held on Thursday, December 11th, at the Ratna Amin Women's College hall room in Bakerganj upazila of Barisal district.
The event was presided over by Uttam Kumar Devnath, the Ansar-VDP Officer of Bakerganj Upazila. The Chief Guest was Range Commander Mohammad Abdus Samad. Special guests included Barisal District Commander Mohammad Nahid Hasan Jonny, B.A.M.
In his speech as the Chief Guest, Mohammad Abdus Samad said that with the resolve to build a discrimination-free Bangladesh, Ansar and Village Defense Force is working to transform the country's youth into a social force. Instructing for the upcoming National Parliament Election, he directed Ansar members to ensure maximum vigilance, professionalism, and responsibility in securing polling centers. He informed that, on the initiative of the Force's Director General, a 'Sanjiban Platoon' will be formed in each upazila. The main goal of this is to develop unemployed Ansar-VDP members as entrepreneurs, contribute to the development of the rural economy, and national prosperity.
The Range Commander further said that the first step to becoming self-reliant is acquiring skills, and the second step is maintaining consistency in those skills. TDP basic training is not only for work efficiency but also a great opportunity to build self-confidence. He urged the trainees to utilize their learned knowledge to play a developmental role in their respective areas. The training provided hands-on instruction on starting small businesses, utilizing government assistance, financial management, savings, women's entrepreneurship development, and modern self-employment.
The Chief Guest also said that alongside general education, skills must be acquired in technical education. He believes that proficiency in technical education makes it possible to do something for oneself and the country's people. He advised members to take loans from the Ansar VDP Development Bank to become enterprising.
He added that since the Director General joined this organization, various activities, especially at the grassroots level, have gained momentum. He extended heartfelt thanks and congratulations to the Director General for trying to move the organization further forward by undertaking various programs.
At the end of the event, certificates were distributed among a total of 70 trainees, including 45 men and 25 women.
It is worth mentioning that on the same day, the 5th phase of TDP basic training was completed by a total of 720 trainees in Barisal district and 432 trainees in Bhola district of Barisal division.
