An exchange of views meeting was held with journalists at the Pabna Press Club with Pabna's newly appointed Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Anwar Zahid. The club organized the event at its VIP Auditorium on Thursday, December 11th, in the evening.

At the beginning of the program, a minute of silence was observed while standing in remembrance of all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. Afterwards, the Press Club welcomed the SP with flowers. Club members introduced themselves and got acquainted with the SP.

The welcome speech at the event was given by the Press Club President, Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar, a journalist for the Daily Jugantor and Channel I.

The journalists present at the meeting placed their expectations before the new SP regarding impartial policing, coordination with the media, maintaining a peaceful electoral environment, and more transparency in various police activities.

In the exchange of views, SP Mohammad Anwar Zahid said, "Upon arriving to serve in Pabna, I first give one promise: I will remain completely impartial. To make the upcoming election fair, peaceful, and acceptable, the police will maintain the highest professionalism. Attention will be given so that no one is intimidated by the conduct of any police member. I am committed to ensuring people-friendly policing and further brightening the image of the police. I will try my utmost to ensure the expected security for the people of Pabna and will work shoulder to shoulder with journalists."

Among others, speeches were given at the event by former Press Club Presidents Professor Shibjit Nag and ABM Fazlur Rahman, Editor Johurul Islam, and former Editor Akhinur Islam Remon.

In the open discussion, opinions were shared by journalists including Abdul Hamid Khan, Rajiur Rahman Rumi (District Representative of 21 Television), Raisul Islam Rizvi Joy (ATN News), Mustafizur Rahman Russell (71 Television), and Mizanur Rahman (Boishakhi Television), among others.

Senior journalist Habibur Rahman Swapan, after concluding his speech, presented a copy of his written book "Column Collection" to the SP.

Among others present at the event were Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin & Finance) Mashiur Rahman Mondal, Abdullah Al Mahmud Mannan Master (Senior Vice-President of Pabna District BNP), Dulal Hossain (OC of Pabna Sadar Thana), TI (Town Inspector) Sadakatul Bari, along with over fifty journalists from various print and electronic media.
