Miscreants vandalized Kali idol of Naogaon Ghoshpara Kali temple

Miscreants vandalized the Kali idol of Sri Sri Kali temple in Choarpur Ghoshpara area of Naogaon Sadar. This incident happened sometime last Sunday night. Allegations have been made against the police administration that they are pressing to give up the idol quickly in this incident. In addition to demanding speedy justice for the vandalism of the idols, Sanatanilambi (Hindus) have been outraged. Residents and leaders of the temple committee said that in the darkness of Sunday night, someone broke the bamboo fence door of the temple and vandalized the Kali idol at Chairpur Sarvajjan Sri Sri Kalimandir at Choarpur intersection of Kirttipur Union of Sadar Upazila. The miscreants cut off the head from the neck of the idol of Kali and left. On Monday morning, a local woman came to the temple to worship and found the idol vandalized and informed the temple committee. After coming to the temple, everyone saw this incident. However, no one could identify who was involved in this incident.
Chowarpur Kali Mandir Committee President Bhavesh Chandra Ghosh said, "We don't know who or what happened." We demand exemplary punishment by identifying those involved in this incident. He further said, "We informed the local UP chairman and the police station on Monday morning immediately after learning about the incident." UP Chairman visited the spot after learning about the incident. However, yesterday Monday, the police did not take any initiative in this regard. No police even came to visit the temple. However, after learning about the incident, some local civil society activists called the senior officials of the administration and the police, and some members of the police visited the scene and pressed for the immediate disposal of the statue. The process of filing a case is going on at the police station.
Chairman of Kirtipur Union Parishad (UP) Nazmul Islam said, 'Hindu-Muslim brothers and sisters have been living in our area maintaining cordial relations. A chakra may have vandalized the idol as part of an attempt to destroy that harmony. After learning about the incident, I informed the police station. Those involved in this incident should be identified and given exemplary punishment. Naogaon District Puja Celebration Committee General Secretary and District Awami League Joint General Secretary Bivas Majumdar said that nothing is known about the incident. I can tell the details after knowing the incident. Naogaon Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zahidul Haque denied the allegation of pressure and said that two policemen have been sent there to confirm the truth of the incident. If a case is filed in this incident, the arrest of the accused will be conducted.
